Widerborstige Gedichte

Dass Ferdinand Pfeffer Gedichte kochte
war mutig, weil keiner sie wirklich mochte.
Auch Verse, die er in der Pfanne gebraten,
waren nicht gerade schmackhaft geraten.

Durch diese Widerborstigkeit
wurden die Verse weit und breit
in Stadt und Land
weltweit bekannt.

Die Leser kamen angerannt,
um die bittere Kost zu probieren
und das Spröde daran zu studieren.

So kam es, dass schließlich sogar die Gelehrten,
sich um die Gedichte von Ferdinand scherten.

Man schrieb dicke Bücher: "Geschmacklos!" und "Kunst!"
So wurde die Dichtung gelobt und verhunzt.

Doch Ferdinand blieb von dem Streit unberührt
und hat weiterhin würzige Verse gerührt.

Uneatable Poems

This poet is an awful cook,
who takes the reader with a hook,
by frying poems in the pan,
to motivate the curious man.

Nobody ate the poetry,
because of spicy melody.
But it was observed in each country and town,
and soon he got famous as Pepper, the clown,

making hideous poems that no one could eat,
'cause of improper words and their unrhythmic beat.
